About the Alarm
If you are in the Non-Alarm mode, please remove the Lock from the disc and wait for 10 sec. The system will release from Non-Alarm, and back to the standby mode. Same as the Alarm Mode, to release from the alarm mode. You need to remove the lock from the disc and wait for 10 sec and the module will turn to the standby mode.
You may be in the Non Alarm mode. The Cranns Lock design when you insert to the lock to disc more then 5 sec, it will lock to the mode. To release the non-alarm mode. You only need to remove the lock from the disc and wait for 10 sec. The Non-alarm mode will release and turn in to the ready mode.
After the 1st initial insert the lock to the disc, you need to do the 2nd insert with in 3 sec. and you will hear a "Beep Beep" sound. The system will lock up to the Alarm mode 5 sec after the "Beep Beep" and at the 10 sec, you will hear a long "Beep". The system is in the Alarm model. Remember, both 1st and 2nd insert need to have a small "hit" to the disc. The system need 2-factor authentication to turn on the Alarm mode. (hit and laser sensor covered)
The Lock Bluetooth will not turn on until the Lock is on the Disc (lock up condition / Alarm mode). If you are in the Non-Alarm mode (bluetooth in off). You will not able to find it in the App. This is to help to save the power on the module.
No, as Cranns's alarms use a local Bluetooth transmitter. You can use your phone to customize the sensitivity of the shock and motion sensors, check the battery level, adjust the siren volume and time.
Yes, you can two locks with one phone.
No, the bluetooth controls your settings only (volume, on/off, sensitivity, battery life) it does not work as a pager. We will have a Mobile Alert Device coming soon!)
Bluetooth Smart, (LE, 4.0+), gives an unobstructed range of about 330 ft. It also depends on the environment.
Unfortunately Bluetooth is only capable of transmitting a short range so the lock can not alert your phone.
There will be an additional transmitter available later this year that will be capable of sending an alert. This unit will be hidden inside the bike.
No. The alarm will go off for about 15 seconds and then reset itself. If your bike is being tampered with the alarm will keep going off until the would be thief goes away.
You can use your bluetooth on your phone to turn the alarm off sooner.
Yes. The Bluetooth/ CRANNS App allows you to control the sensitivity and the volume.
In order to adjust your lock settings we suggest your are within 10-15 feet. Please note: the bluetooth does not alert your phone. The bluetooth feature allows you to control your locks settings like the volume of the alarm, the sensitivity of the shock sensors, duration of the alarm, on/off and monitors your battery life too. It really is a cool feature
The alarmed disc lock comes with a tool that removes the base plate. You an access the battery behind the base plate.
In the normal usage, the battery will last for 6-8 months. If the alarm going off more often. The shorter the battery life will be.
About the Lock
The VP6 has a 6mm push down hardened steel pin. This lock is ideal for scooters and smaller bikes..
The VD10/VD14 has a carbide reinforced 10/14mm double locking pin. This construction enables CRANNS to pass the SRA integrity test required to get insurance on your bike in France making the VD10/VD14 one of the strongest disc locks on the market. The VD10/VD14 is ideal for all motorbikes where high security is required and can fit the larger pin. Note the pin doesn't need to go through the holes in the disc and can lock over the disc
The VP6 can fit with the Disc space with 44mm or below. It also fit the the holes on the disc which bigger then 6.5mm.

We suggest you store your lock in your seat while you are riding your bike.
